A truck driver has died after two trucks crashed head-on on Interstate 80 in Sutherland, Nebraska.

The crash happened around mile marker 169 on Sunday evening. According to witnesses, one of the trucks crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the head-on collision. Traffic is currently being diverted to Highway 30, at mile marker 179.

Westbound Traffic on Interstate 80 between North Platte and Hershey is being diverted onto Highway 30 at Newberry Access Road (mile marker 179) to Sutherland.

Here’s what we know: at least one of the two semi-truck drivers didn’t make it. Witnesses say a semi crossed the center line near mile marker 169 just east of Hershey and collided with another semi head on. First responders are on scene trying to clean up. This is developing story we will have more updates as they become available.

Update (8/22/2016):

Nebraska State Patrol has reported that three people died in the crash. Initial reports indicated only one death.
