Two men took police on a chase in Oconee County earlier this week, which ultimately ended when their vehicle crashed into the back of a semi truck and burst into flames.
Georgia State Patrol says they tried to stop the vehicle after they noticed it driving erratically, but the men fled the scene, leading to the chase which was recorded on police dash cameras.
According to the Athens Banner-Herlad, the men ran a stop sign and then crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on Highway 316 at McNutt Creek Road. Their car got stuck under the trailer of the semi truck before bursting into flames.
Both men were killed in the crash. The truck driver was not injured.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office released the raw footage of the crash and said they are still working to identify the two men that were killed.
