A truck’s windshield was shattered on Interstate 93 in Londonberry, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, after a flying turkey crashed into the truck.

The driver of the truck suffered minor cuts to his face due to broken glass. He also told responding officers that the 20-pound turkey was alive and moving around the cab of the truck after the crash.

“They’ll fly across the highway because it’s faster for them,” said Fish and Game conservation officer Chris McKee. He said it’s the first time he’s seen an animal alive and moving around inside a vehicle after crashing through a windshield.

According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, McKee tried to take the turkey to an animal rehab center, but it succumbed to it’s injuries on the way there.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
