
Starting on July 1st, Wyoming Department of Transportation will begin changing highway speed limit signs on sections of three highways in Wyoming. The speed limit will be increased from 75 mph to 80 mph for all vehicles on the road.
The locations are as follows:
Interstate 25
- North of Cheyenne to south of Douglas; 117 miles, mile marker 18-135;
- North of Douglas to south of Casper; 44 miles, mile marker 141-185; and
- North of Casper to south of Buffalo; 107 miles, mile marker 190-297.
Interstate 80
- East end of Bridger Valley to west of Green River; 34 miles, mile marker 48-82;
- East of Rock Springs to west of Wamsutter; 55 miles, mile marker 110-165; and
- East of Cheyenne to west of Pine Bluffs; 27 miles, mile marker 373-400.
Interstate 90
- East of Buffalo to west of Gillette; 64 miles, mile marker 59-123; and
- East of Gillette to between Moorcroft and Sundance; 40 miles, mile marker 130-170.
The new speed limits will affect roughly 500 miles of these rural interstates. WYDOT is also looking into several other stretches of interstate for additional speed limit increases.
Remember, you’ll still have to follow the speed limits that are currently posted until July 1st, when the new limits take effect.
