A truck driver from Chicago posted this rant about a trucking company that left him on the side of the highway, over a thousand miles from home.
YouTuber Jhusltecity says he started training with Swift Transpoartion when he was unable to find a job with a local trucking company, but was given the run-around as soon as he took the position.
He says Swift’s recruiters initially promised him a local driving position, but after taking the job, he was ordered to drive interstate for two months before he could start working locally.
After agreeing to drive interstate, he was told that the company wouldn’t accept his current medical certificate and required him to take a new medical examination by a company approved doctor. Upon completion of the medical examination, he was issued a 3-month temporary medical card and began to drive over-the-road with a driver trainer.
While on a delivery to San Antionio, Texas, he says his trainer received a call from the company and was told to drop him off on the side of the road because his temporary medical card did not allow him to drive interstate.
He was then forced to find his way home and ended up having to take a flight from Texas back to Chicago.
His final warning to new drivers was to be wary of promises made by recruiters and to be ready for anything.
