In Union Gap, Washington, a truck driver survived a serious accident when his big rig rolled over.
On Wednesday, 51- year-old Yevgeniy Ryapolov of Portland was driving his semi on U.S. 97.
When he took the exit ramp at Union Gap, he reportedly took the curve too quickly, causing the crash.
The big rig rolled over a guard rail and landed on its top.
The trailer was hauling paper products and landed at the edge of Ahtanum Creek after it rolled over.
The truck driver was pinned between the steering wheel and his seat.
Firefighters worked to free the man from the cab.
According to Yakima Herald, it took crews about 90 minutes to stabilize the big rig and to extricate the man from the wreckage. They started the process at about 8:30 a.m.
After he was freed from his truck, Ryapolov suffered only minor injuries.
He walked to an ambulance without difficulty.
Authorities said he was seen taking photographs of the crash, and he refused to be taken to a hospital.
Traffic was backed up for around six hours. The truck driver is expected to receive a ticket.
