A truck driver was injured after falling off an overpass on a Chicago highway on Sunday morning.

It happened shortly after 8 a.m. on the Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90) at the Kimball Avenue overpass in the Avondale neighborhood.

According to ABC-7 News in Chicago, the truck hit a concrete barrier “causing the cab to fall down to the street below while the trailer remained on the expressway.”

Two lanes on the highway were closed after the incident, but have since reopened. Hazmat crews were called to the scene because the rig was leaking diesel fuel.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the truck to strike the barrier.
