A truck driver died in a fiery crash on Monday after losing control of his rig and crashing into an empty restaurant, according to Mercury News. The restaurant was located in a strip mall on the 3800 block of Railroad Avenue in Pittsburgh.
The cause of the crash is unknown, but according to witnesses, it appeared the driver lost control of his rig and was doing everything he could to try and slow down.
In his final moments, the driver skillfully maneuvered in between other vehicles as his out-of-control truck barreled down the road. No one else was injured, although three cars were slightly grazed.
The truck first grazed a car on Kirker Road and then passed between a Pickup and an SUV stopped at a light, before crashing into the restaurant.
Witnesses say the driver was screaming with his windows down as he approached the strip mall. The final explosion could be heard from several blocks away.
The driver was dead on impact and his identity is yet to be released.
