A truck driver was seriously injured after overturning while making a turn in Douglas County, Georgia.
The accident happened on Friday, September 22nd, at the intersection of Thorton Road and Douglas Hill Road, around 6:45 a.m.
The trucker told Georgia State Patrol Trooper John Trawick that he was making a right turn onto Douglas Hill Road when his brakes failed, causing his load to shift. The shifting load caused the tractor trailer to overturn.
As it was overturning, the truck struck a second tractor trailer before landing on a guardrail. The driver of the second truck was not injured.
The overturned truck was hauling seafood and was significantly damaged in the rollover.
The driver of the overturned truck, who is from Mississippi, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. His name has not been released.
The intersection was closed for nearly 9 hours, but has since reopened.
