A truck driver escaped without injury after a bridge it was traveling on collapsed in rural North Dakota.
The incident happened on Thursday, October 19th, in Forest River, North Dakota, about 30 miles northwest of Grand Forks.
According to the North Dakota State Patrol, the six-axle semi truck was loaded with grain when it attempted to travel over the wooden bridge. The bridge collapsed while the truck was crossing it, causing the the tractor trailer to spill a majority of its load into the Forest River below.
Troopers say the truck driver, Melvin Armbrust, was able to climb out of the cab, which was elevated several feet in the air, without injury.
The rural bridge is owned and maintained by Walsh County. Authorities say the truck will remain in the bridge for several days before a crane can get to it.
