State Troopers are investigating an incident wherein two tractor-trailers crashed this morning in Pageland, South Carolina.

The collision occurred around 4:30 this morning in Chesterfield County.  The two trucks crashed on U.S. 601.

One drove a Tyson truck hauling eggs, and the other was pulling an empty Smithfield Hams trailer.

A witness from a local convince store, upon hearing the crash, ran to the truckers’ aid. The bystander was able to pull one of the drivers from the wreckage.

A man from the convenience store told WSOC9 his recount from the incident:

“I heard the big bang and after me and the other guy came running out, that’s when we started pulling the guy out of the truck and tending to him.”

Pageland Rescue Squad and High Fire Department rushed to the crash site.

Officials stated that one driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and that both drivers would be OK.

SCDOT officials helped clean up diesel fuel spilled from the crash.

Tow trucks removed the semis.

All lanes were reopened after 8 a.m.
