A trucker unknowingly escorted a Hyundai down a busy highway when the car somehow got wedged against the front of his big rig.
It happened on Thursday around 1 p.m. on Interstate 69 in Liberty County, Texas. Truck driver Russel Neal II was traveling north across the East Fork San Jacinto River when he said he felt a bump. Believing that he had blown out a steer tire, he continued down the highway until he could eventually pull over onto the shoulder.
That’s when he discovered what had really happened.
Instead of a blown tire, he found a Hyundai Sonata smashed against the front of his truck.
Inside the Hyundai was a shaken-up 25-year-old Erin Reynolds.
During the accident, all four of her tires were blown out.
The driver’s side of her car was crushed.
According to CW39, Reynolds is a book salesperson and was on a delivery when the collision occurred. She explained that “it all happened in the blink of an eye”. She says she was driving, and the next thing she knew she was pinned against the hood of the truck.
“All I could think to do was pray and to hope that I wasn’t going to roll, because I figured if I rolled I was going to be in trouble. I don’t think it’s every day you see the grill of a semi in your driver’s side window that close,” she said.
The truck driver said he couldn’t see the car over the hood of his truck.
An investigation is underway to determine how it happened. Luckily, no one was hurt, and no charges have been filed.
