A truck driver and car driver got into an altercation on Thursday night that left both men in the hospital.
Both the car and semi truck were traveling north on Interstate 95 in Orange, Connecticut, when something sparked a fit of road rage between the drivers.
According to NBC Connecticut, the truck driver then followed the car off the exit ramp, walked up to the car when it was stopped, and hit the driver with an unknown object, cutting his face.
As the truck driver made his way back to his rig, the driver of the car shot him several times with a 9mm pistol.
After being shot, the truck driver made his way back to his rig and stopped near exit 44, where state troopers finally caught up with him.
Both men were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Their injuries are reported to be non-life threatening. Police also reported that the car driver had a valid permit for his pistol.
A full investigation is currently underway and police are asking witnesses to call them at (203) 696-2565 with any information regarding the incident.
No charges have been filed as of Friday morning. The names of the drivers have not been released.
