Police are trying to figure out why someone shot at a truck driver on Friday night.
According to local Action News 5, truck driver Tammy Thompson had just picked up a load at a Walmart distribution center in Memphis, Tennesse, and was on Interstate 240 when her daycab’s rear window was shattered by a gunshot.
“I heard a gunshot,” said Tammy Thompson.
“It scared me. I was driving down the highway. It was raining real hard. I just kept going. I would not stop.”
The bullet narrowly missed Thompson, and thankfully she was not injured in the incident.
“It was right behind my head,” she said.
Thompson filed a police report after the incident, but was unable to give a good description of the suspect’s vehicle because it was raining heavily.
Police aren’t sure of the motive behind the attack, and Thompson said she has no clue what caused the shooting. She speculated that it may have been a hijacking attempt.
“I don’t know why someone would do this so close to the holidays,” Thompson added.
