A truck driver was seriously injured when his semi truck overturned in Oregon yesterday.

The incident occurred around 6:30 in the morning near the Powers Highway junction on Highway 42.

The 2005 Freightliner spilled the load of chips it was hauling in it’s trailer. According to KPIC, the truck rolled over after failing to make it around a sweeping curve on the highway.

As the driver lost control, the truck took out nearly 200 feet of guardrail, before falling 50 feet down an embankment. The truck was owned by Terrain Tamers Chip Hauling.

Oregon State Police believe speed was a factor. The driver was cited for careless driving.
