At times it may seem like the CB Radio is a free for all, but what one truck driver allegedly said to another has him in hot water.
According to police reports, Donald Beers was driving on eastbound I-84 in Pike County, Poconos, when he got into an argument with driver Fred Lawson who was driving nearby on the highway.
When the argument escalated, Beers threatened him by saying “pull over and I’ll put a bullet between your eyes.”
Lawson contacted authorities, because he believed he saw Beers reaching for an object in his seat as he made the threats. Eventually, officers caught up with Beers, and found no weapon in his vehicle, but issued him a citation for harassment.
CB communications are regulated by the FCC. Under the rules of Citizens Band Radio Service it states that it is illegal to: “transmit obscene, indecent or profane words, language or meaning”
Violating the CB Radio rules and regulations can result in penalties of up to $10,000 per occurrence.
