The owner of a Tennessee trucking company was killed after being run over by a company semi truck, which was being driven by an employee.
The incident occurred in La Verge, Tennessee, on Monday afternoon.
The owner of Bears Trucking Inc., William Hayes III, was in his SUV, driving behind a company truck on Waldron Road, near Interstate 24.
According to WKRN, both Hayes and the truck driver pulled over after noticing that something was wrong with the rig. Hayes then left his SUV to check on the truck’s tires.
As he was inspecting the rig, the employee rolled the truck forward, crushing his 57-year-old boss. The driver told the Tennessee Highway Patrol that he did not realize Hayes was there.
Hayes was transported to TriStar Stonecrest Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
There were no reported charges as of Tuesday morning, however an investigation is still underway.
