One rebellious young truck driver was trying to cross the border at highway 281, Texas, when he was stopped by Border Patrol and asked if they could look inside his truck.

“I’d rather you not” the driver said, so he was told to pull over. He was greeted with a smile by the supervisor and was told they wanted to check his truck and asked him if he was a U.S. citizen.

The driver, Thomas Sauer, felt his rights were being violated.

Border Patrol had no probable cause to check his truck and he didn’t want to accidentally give them one.

He refused to answer their questions.

Since Sauer refused to cooperate, the supervisor began to get forceful, only making Sauer not want to cooperate even more.

The situation quickly escalated to absurd conditions.

A group of agents surrounded the car, ready to extract Sauer from his vehicle by force.

After several warnings, the agent smashes the truck window in order to gain access.

Sauer was then dragged out of his truck and detained.

Many people believe Sauer got what he deserved for being difficult . Others are on his side, stating that the Patrol had no right or probable cause to check the truck.

Sauer was detained for long however. He was let go shortly after being detained with no charges filed.
