A truck driver lost control of his rig while driving through a heavy rainstorm and ended up in a Florida river on Saturday night.
The incident occurred on the I-75 bridge over the Manatee River in Ellenton, Florida. The driver, 29-year-old Timothy Dale of New Jersey, lost control and crashed into the barrier of the bridge before falling into the Manatee River below.
Two men who witnessed the crash from a boat dock immediately jumped into their boat and rescued the driver, who was still inside the cab of his Kenworth truck. He still had his seat belt on and was “about waist deep in water” when they arrived.
Amazingly, the driver suffered only minor injuries. According to Fox-13, he was cited for careless driving.
