On Monday, a truck driver leaped out of his blue Mack truck after losing control on a steep downhill outside of Cedar City, Utah.

The incident occurred around 2:44 p.m. on state Route 14, near milepost 8.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Nathan Clark responded to the incident, “He believed, as he was taking that last corner, that he had no brakes so he kind of used the emergency brakes, at which point, he made the decision to turn left into the rocks to bring the truck to a stop. And prior to the truck actually hitting the rocks he jumped out.”
