Last week, we reported on a truck driver that was arrested for having an unsecured load after leaking 1,100 gallons of Canola Oil on the I-75 in Bibb County, Georgia.
According to police reports, the driver, William Tanksley, was aware that his trailer was leaking, but was following company orders to bring the load back to Atlanta when he was arrested.
The Middle-Georgia Telegraph shared an excerpt of the report:
“The delivery was refused because a container was broken and leaking. The driver’s boss at Prudential Carriers told him to bring the load back to Atlanta. The driver was aware his vehicle was leaking canola oil onto the road”
The spilled canola oil caused three accidents near the I-75 in Bibb County on May 12th and costs the city $5,000 to clean up. There has been no public update on the status of the driver’s charges.
