
A truck driver was killed on Wednesday evening after being run off the road by an intoxicated motorist.
It happened on southbound Interstate 95 in Westport, Connecticut, near exit 17.
According to the New Haven Register, 64 year-old tanker truck driver Thomas P. Reynolds was traveling in the far right lane when his rig was struck by a Mercedes that veered off the center lane. The impact caused Reynolds’ truck to swerve and strike a tree and a light pole, before overturning and catching fire.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The Mercedes was driven by 36-year-old Ramses T. Rival, who was arrested for DUI and later released on a $10,000 bond. He was not injured.
