At least one person was killed in a pileup involving four tractor trailers on Interstate 70 in Ohio on Monday evening.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. on the westbound lanes of I-70, in New Paris, Ohio, near the Ohio-Indiana state line.

According to Sgt. Frank Simmons of the Ohio Highway Patrol, a semi truck crashed into three other trucks that were stopped in traffic for an unrelated crash. Police say the truck was traveling at approximately 60 mph when it struck the stopped vehicles.

The driver was employed by Phoenix-based Swift Transportation. His name has not been released.

Two other truck drivers were seriously injured and taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, WHIO reported.

A fourth driver was not injured.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are expected to be shutdown into the evening.
