
A truck driver was killed when his rig was blown over by strong winds in El Reno, Oklahoma, on Tuesday night.
It happened on Interstate 40, near Highway 81, around 9:10 p.m.
“Officials say extreme winds caused the truck to veer off the roadway, causing the truck to strike a cable barrier.,” local KFOR-9 news reported.

Police say the driver of the truck was partially ejected through the truck’s windshield and was trapped for nearly an hour before responders were able to free him. According to KTUL news, official police reports say the driver of the truck was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Winds up to 95 miles per hour were reported in the area.
The trucker’s identity has not been released.
