A truck driver was injured in southwestern Kansas after hitting a stray cow that was on the highway and rolling into a field off the side of the road.

The incident happened on Saturday morning on County Road D, 7 miles south of Rolla, Kansas.

According to The Wichita Eagle, the 2017 Freightliner truck was pulling a trailer and “rolled twice after hitting the cow, ending up in a field with the trailer on its side.”

The driver, 28-year-old Derek Munn, was taken to Morton County Hospital. The severity of his injuries were not released.
