A truck driver was seriously injured after crashing into a building in Sterling, Colorado on Friday evening.
According to ABC-7, police in Sterling responded to a call about a semi truck that was driving erratically around Main Street and North 5th street.
By the time they arrived, around 8:42 p.m., the truck was lodged into the southwest wall of the old Aarons building. The cab of the truck and a portion of the trailer broke through the wall. The rest of the trailer remained inside the building.
The truck driver, a male from Nebraska, was extricated from the rig and taken to Sterling Regional Medical Center. He reportedly suffered serious injuries. His name has not yet been released.
No one else was injured in the crash.
A preliminary investigation determined that speed was a factor. Police have advised people to stay away from the building, as it is not structurally safe.
