Back on March 24th, a truck driver made the news after parking his tanker across the 5 Freeway in Sylmar, California, in order to protect a police officer that was involved in a motorcycle crash.
On Wednesday, that driver, Dorian Cole, was honored for his actions by the city. The police officer is still in the hospital, but things could have ended even worse if he didn’t take action.
“If he hadn’t jumped into action, put his big rig in the way, it could have been far worse than it was” said Councilman Felipe Fuentes at the ceremony.
According to CBS – Los Angeles, the officer will need several weeks of therapy once he leaves the hospital, but Dorian Cole says once he recovers, he hopes to have lunch with the officer he protected.
