A truck driver was killed in Kansas City after he hit his brakes to avoid a motorist that pulled in front of him. The sudden stop caused the load of plywood that he was hauling to penetrate his cab, killing him instantly.
Although the streets were wet, officers noted that the weather was not considered a primary factor in the accident. His name or company has not been released, as they are waiting to notify the driver’s family.
The incident occurred on 78th street and Kaw Drive in Kansas City. Troopers have since stressed the importance of load securement, in order to prevent similar tragedies.
