A truck driver was fatally wounded after crashing into a bridge on Interstate 75.

It happened in Bowling Green, Ohio, on the northbound lanes of I-75, around 5:40 a.m.

According to the Ohio State Patrol, the driver of the 2017 Peterbilt truck lost control near the SR-582 overpass, causing it to veer into the median, up a concrete barrier, and into an overpass pillar.

The driver of the truck was ejected upon impact and later died from his wounds. His name is currently being withheld.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 75, as well as the SR-582 overpass, were closed as a result of the accident. They have both reopened.

An investigation is underway to determine why the driver lost control.
