A truck driver who crashed his rig while changing his pants on a highway is now facing DUI charges. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 9:30 a.m. on Interstate 89 on Williston, Vermont.

According to police, a drunken 62-year-old Allen R. Johnson of Meriden, Connecticut was headed north on I-89 near exit 11 at 63 miles-per-hour when he decided that he needed to change his pants.

The trucker stood up between the front cab seats to maneuver his pants off while the truck was in motion.

As a result, Johnson lost control of his rig, and it rolled onto its side onto the shoulder of the I-89 northbound lanes. The roll-over caused traffic delays for several hours.

Police who arrived at the scene used a breath test to reveal that the trucker had a blood alcohol content of 0.209%, which is about five times the legal limit for commercial drivers. NY Post reported that Johnson was treated for minor injuries sustained during the crash.

The truck driver was charged with Driving Under the Influence while Operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle and Negligent Operation. He is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Criminal Court on November 22nd.
