60-year-old truck driver, Charles Nalley, parked in a no-parking zone at the the Pilot travel center on Highway 58 in California on Friday night.
Management noticed and asked him to remove his vehicle from the area. Nalley kindly obliged but first had to finish making his purchase.
He completed his purchase and made his way towards his truck. That was when he met Kristopher Oliver, an employee at the truck stop.
Oliver confronted Nalley about his parking again. An argument between the two sparked and quickly ignited to a heavy situation. The heated argument ended when 30-year-old Oliver broke a 1-inch wooden broom handle against Nalley’s face.
The San Bernardino County Sheriffs arrived on scene and charged Oliver with assault with a deadly weapon. Nalley suffered laceration to his head and a swollen eye but declined treatment for his wounds when on the scene. Oliver remains in custody with bail of $50,000.
