A truck driver stopped and arrested a man after witnessing him driving erratically on an Ohio highway recently.
The video was uploaded by YouTube user Bryan French on October 9th, and sent to us by a reader.
According to the video’s description, the truck driver (who’s also an off-duty police officer) nearly collided with a car that was driving recklessly on Interstate 70 in Columbus, Ohio.
When the reckless driver continued swerving between lanes, the truck driver forced him to pull over, and then blocked his car in order to protect him on the dark highway.
The trucker detained the man until highway patrol officers arrived and arrested him on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence.
The truck driver believes the man posed “an immediate risk to his life and others,” and getting him off the road may have “saved a life or two.”
The incident was recorded on the trucker’s dash cam (we believe the date on the video to be incorrect.) We’ve reached out the the family of the truck driver and will update if/when we receive more information.
