A Georgia trucker got a little too comfortable while using the CB radio and is now facing charges.
Truck driver, Branden Hunt, told WAVE 3 that truckers are used to hearing crazy things on the CB radio. He commented, “They’re just constantly running their mouth.”
But on Monday, when a trucker crossed the line with his violent threats and commentary, Shepherdsville Police failed to see the humor.
Dustin Edwards was tuned into the CB radio when he overheard trucker Harlen Fisher going off on a verbal rampage. Harlen was talking about killing people- specifically white people and police. That’s when Edwards heard police sirens. Another trucker, who was also listening in, had called the police.
Harlen stated over the CB that he was the second truck from Cedar Grover Road. He dared others to confront him.
The police found him exactly where he told them he was. Police stated that he refused to come out of his truck and was argumentative and appeared agitated. Officers found a pocket knife, cocaine and marijuana on his person.
Harlen was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with obstructing governmental operations, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
His citation indicated that the trucker who called in the report was worried because of the recent threats against the police force.
