A truck driver was arrested after threatening President Donald Trump with bombs and taking police on a chase in Columbia County, Florida.
According to police reports, 37-year-old Ausarmaat Rahotep called 911 and told the operator that he was “headed to Donald Trump with bombs” early Saturday morning. Police were able to identify the caller and discovered that he was in a tractor trailer that was parked on a nearby interstate.
Deputies searched several highways and found a white tractor trailer that was being driven by Rahotep on Interstate 75. After turning on their lights and sirens, he continued down the highway and refused to stop. Rahotep took officers on a chase, weaving through traffic, but did not speed.
He eventually pulled over at an agriculture inspection station in Hamilton County and was arrested, The Gainesville Sun reported.
Because of the threat of bombs, police used a K-9 explosives detection unit to search the tractor trailer. No explosives were found in the rig. It was loaded with pool construction materials.
Rahotep was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing law enforcement, and making threats against an elected official. He is currently being held at Columbia County Detention Facility without bond.
