Utah Police say a brief road rage incident caused a semi truck to overturn in Murray, Utah, on Saturday.
According to KSL.com, the driver of the semi truck was unfamiliar with the area and quickly switched lanes on northbound Interstate 15 in order to make the make the ramp to eastbound Interstate 215.
“He was unfamiliar with the area and wasn’t sure what lane to be in to make the exit,” said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Chad Hecker. “When making one of those lane changes, apparently he cut off (the car).”
That’s when the driver of the car pulled in front of the semi and “brake checked” the rig, causing the truck to lose control and overturn.
“The semi driver was driving too fast and along with that and the other vehicle making him hit his brakes going on that curve, it made him lose control,” added Hecker.
Troopers are searching for the driver of the car, but say it’s unlikely they’ll find him. If found, he faces possible reckless driving and assault charges.
The crash backed up Interstate 215 for 7 hours on Saturday. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.
