A semi truck crashed into a retail shoe store yesterday, ripping a large truck-sized hole in the outside wall of the building.
The incident occurred outside the DSW Shoe Warehouse at the Danbury Green shopping center in Danbury, Connecticut.
According to WTNH News-8, local police reported that the truck driver was attempting to make a U-turn when the back of his trailer smashed into the wall.
Danbury’s mayor, Mark Boughton, tweeted the following photo of the crash.

The truck driver was making a delivery at Staples, which is next door to the shoe store.
Assistant Fire Chief Mark Omasta told reporters, “He didn’t have the room to do what he wanted to.”
No one was injured in the crash. The DSW Shoe Warehouse was evacuated after the crash, be reopened several hours later.
