A small “mom and pop” truck stop, owned by Micheal Sandlin, opened up in Louisiana about 20 years ago. It’s called the Tiger Truck Stop and has been a place of comfort for truckers in an ever growing corporate area.
Recently, law suits have been filed against the truck stop over the false accusations of one of their tenants, a tiger named Tony.
The suit was aimed to take Tony away from the only home he’s ever known and from the people who raised him.
Those looking to remove the tiger stated that Tony is not properly cared for.. These claims could not be proven, however, and the lawsuits were dismissed.
Tony has lived in the stop for his entire life, 14 years, and is the last of many liters that were loved and raised there. Only healthy tigers are able to successfully have liters and Sandlin has given them more than the required space they need for a comfortable living.
Though the suit was dismissed and an exemption of the law preventing the owner ship of big cats was made for Tony, there’s still the possibility that Sandlin hasn’t heard the last of this ordeal.
