A dust storm swept through Arizona and caused a chain reaction crash involving three semi trucks and two pickup trucks.
It happened about 15 miles west of Casa Grande, along a stretch of I-8 on Tuesday night.
The damage to the vehicles was extensive. One truck’s cab was completely lodged into the trailer of another semi truck, and debris and twisted metal littered the roadway.
DPS troopers arrived at the scene at around 6:30 p.m. There was no hazardous cargo inside the semi trucks, and diesel was not spilled.
According to ABC 15, the only person injured was a semi truck passenger who suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital. The highway was closed during the dust storm and while crews worked to clear the wreckage from the crash site.
The three semi truck drivers were cited for failing to stop during the dangerous dust storm.
