Three individuals in their mid-to-early 20s were arrested in Clark County, Indiana, for shooting at semi trucks on Interstate 65.
According to 9 News, The Clark County Sheriff’s office received several phone calls from truck drivers on the evening of February 19th, all claiming to be shot with paintballs while traveling the highway.
Officers were able to locate a vehicle that matched witnesses descriptions and arrested 24-year-old Joshua Spears, 21-year-old Kinsey Prather, and 21-year-old Ryan Bowles.
When questioned by police, the three admitted to the drive-by paintball shootings and said they “did it for fun.” They were arrested and charged with criminal recklessness and criminal mischief.
“What you had is paintballs that were slamming on the drivers side window of these trucks,” said Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull. “This is at night time, it’s dark and they are hearing these projectiles hitting the windows of their trucks not knowing what it is. In fact, one of those semi truck drivers said he almost had a wreck.”
One of the truck drivers who was targeted, Eddie Boyd of Wyoming, told officers that the paintballs hitting his window was enough to scare him and cause him to swerve off the road.
The three were released from the Clark County jail after posting bond later that evening.
