Residents of San Francisco’s Potrero Hill and Mission neighborhoods were without power after a semi truck crashed into a utility pole earlier this week.

The incident occurred on 20th and De Haro streets, around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

According to SFGate.com, the car hauler lost control and knocked down the power pole, then crashed into a house and clipped a gas line.

In total, approximately 11,000 customers lost electricity for several hours. Emergency crews also shut off the leaking gas line.

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. spokesman Joe Molica commented on the incident, “It’s a really bizarre scene,” he said. “We’re asking bicyclists and motorists to avoid the area.“

Power was restored for most residents by noon. No one was injured in the accident.
