El Paso police were called to the scene but were then told to leave. Firefighters had reason to believe that the building had become destabilized during the crash.

The El Paso Department of Planning and Inspections officials stated that on-site responders determine if a truck can be removed safely. It all depends on what part of the building was damaged.

Two people inside the semi truck were injured and taken to hospitals after the accident. Their conditions are unknown.

It is not currently known when the truck will be removed.
