The Love’s Travel Center off Interstate 95 in Ormond Beach, Florida, has announced that trucks will not be allowed to park at the location during Bike Week, from March 10 to March 19th.
A Harley Davidson dealership next door to the Love’s is a major participant of the event, causing heavy motorcycle traffic in the area. In order to keep traffic flowing, Love’s wants truckers to “fuel and go,” completely eliminating all truck parking during the 10 day event.
“Love’s, especially the team at the Ormond Beach location, understands the inconvenience for our Customers during this bi-annual event. We have engaged in much more proactive communications to ensure our Customers know the effect this event will have on their routes and abilities to stop and park overnight. We also hired four police officers specifically to help direct traffic at our location to ease the congestion in entering and exiting. We value our Customers and appreciate your business. We sincerely thank you for your understanding,” Love’s said in a press release.
In the past, Love’s permitted 30-minute truck parking during Bike Week, but it was difficult to enforce. The same location also prohibited trucks from parking during Biketoberfest, which took place last fall.
The Loves Travel Stop is located on Hwy 1 and I-95 Exit 273 in Ormond Beach, Florida.
