You may have seen this dash cam footage posted online earlier this year, that shows a truck driver narrowly avoiding a head on collision with an oncoming truck in Ontario, Canada.
Truck driver, Art Ginter, who caught the incident on his dash cam, was forced to swerve into a side rail to prevent a potentially disastrous wreck. For insurance reasons, the video was submitted to authorities, who enhanced the video and opened an investigation to find the identity of the oncoming driver.
After 6 months, they were able to identify him as 31 year old Akmal Hayat. In regards to finding the driver, Ginter told CBC news:
“I’m glad they have been able to identify the driver. Again, I did not do this to throw the driver under the bus, but I just wanted him identified for my insurance company,”
After being charged with reckless driving, the driver of the oncoming truck has pleaded guilty and was hit with a $2500 fine.
