Texas trucker and passenger escape semi fire just in time

A semi truck driver and his passenger escaped a near-death experience after their big rig caught fire on a Texas highway.

The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. on I-10 East near W.W. White in San Antonio, Texas.

According to Fox San Antonio, firefighters reported that the truck had just received an oil change when the truckers heard something wrong with the engine. When they pulled over to the side of the highway, the truck caught fire.

Thanks to the home appliances in the trailer, the fire was mostly contained to the cab. The passenger escaped unharmed while the driver experienced minor burns to his ankle.

The cause of combustion is under further investigation.
