A Texas man has been arrested after a 20-year career of stealing electronics from semi trucks.

The arrest was made in Seguin, Texas, after the 66-year-old suspect, Patrick Joyner, was captured on surveillance camera stealing from a tractor trailer at a Seguin truck stop. Police were able get a good look at Joyner’s getaway vehicle in the footage, and used it to identity him and take him into custody.

According to local KSAT News, shortly after his arrest, Joyner told investigators that he had been stealing from tractor trailers for nearly two decades.

Joyner’s multi-decade crime spree took place at various truck stops on the I-10 corridor from San Antonio to Houston, and the I-35 corridor between San Antonio and Dallas. Police say Joyner confessed to stealing GPS devices, radar detectors, CB Radios, and other electronics from the trucks.

Seguin Police Department spokesperson Carlos Contreras said Joyner would often use stolen CB Radios to advertise the stolen electronics to other truckers in the area.

Joyner was arrested on February 7th, 2018, and is being held in Guadalupe County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

In a Facebook post, police chief Bruce Ure said the only electronics Joyner would be enjoying now “is a little TV time in the GCSO TV room with his new friends.”
