A disturbing photo was posted to social media by a 16-year-old Florida resident, just days after fleeing the scene of a fatal semi truck.

Police say 51-year-old truck driver Robert Drewelus swerved after being cut off by a Volvo on Interstate 75 in Sarasota, Florida. Drewelus was unable to avoid the car, and struck it from behind, causing his loaded tanker truck to overturn and catch fire around 3 a.m.

The Volvo, driven by 16-year-old Nicholas Hermes Cain, fled the scene of the accident. Cain was arrested shortly later at an apartment complex.

Cain was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death, and received a violation for driving with a learner’s permit after 10 p.m.

After being released, the teenager posted a disturbing photo on social media, mocking Drewelus’ death. The photo, which can be seen below, was taken in front of the wrecked Volvo and captioned with a smiley face and truck emoji.

Drewelus’ widow, who was in the middle of planning her husband’s funeral when the image surfaced online, says she’s “disgusted” by the photo.

When questioned about the social media post, Cain said his Instagram account was “hacked” and denied posting the image himself. The Instagram account has since been deactivated.
