A semi truck hauling live baby salmon overturned in Eugene, Oregon yesterday, spilling roughly 11,000 fish onto the road.

The fish were being transported from a salmon hatchery to a nearby river, where they would have lived out the rest of their lives.

The driver made it out with broken shoulder, and was taken to the hospital.

According to State Police Lt. Josh Brooks, the truck driver’s blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.

The driver’s name has not been released.
