The driver of a gasoline tanker was found dead from a gunshot wound outside the Quick Trip, south of Interstate 20 in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday.
According to Fox 4, the hoses from his truck were in place but the driver was not moving. When someone glanced inside the Groendyke Transport rig, they noticed the driver, 29-year-old Jonathan Luevano, was slumped over and unresponsive.
Detectives said the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted, and immediately ruled it a homicide. However, they are unclear if the gunshot stemmed from a botched robbery, a random shooting, or someone the driver may have known.
A spokesperson from the driver’s company told reporters, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the loved ones and family members of our driver involved in this morning’s incident. We are shocked and saddened by this tragedy,”
No one was arrested, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Fort Worth Police department. They are currently reviewing surveillance footage and speaking to witnesses.
“We believe it happened between 1:30 and 2:30 in the morning, so we are asking for the public’s assistance if you were in the area and if you saw anything suspicious or anything at all,” said Cpl. Tracy Knight of the FWPD.

Update: A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
After reviewing the surveillance footage, police were able to link 23-year-old Lendon Lee Adams to the shooting. Police stopped him in his white Mustang a few hours after the shooting.
The murder weapon, as well as drug paraphernalia, were discovered in his vehicle. He was arrested and booked into a Fort Worth Jail.
