Police say the man who shot two people at a truck stop on Sunday afternoon was found dead of an apparent suicide on Monday morning.
On Sunday, 52-year-old Jacinto Del Prado shot two men at the TA truck stop in Jessup, Maryland.
One man, 44-year-old Chad Daniel, died at the scene; the other, 57-year-old Warren Weeden, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The suspect immediately fled the scene.
Shortly after the shooting, police were able to identify Del Prado and issued a warrant for his arrest.
On Monday morning, Del Prado committed suicide by walking in front of a passing train. His body was found at a rail road crossing in Prince George’s County.
According to Howard County police, Sunday’s shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity.
Weeden remains in the hospital, however his condition has improved and he’s expected to survive.
