North America is getting its first 60-foot-long trailers according to TruckNews.com.

4 of these vehicles are to be deployed by next year.

“The longer container will not exceed the maximum allowable lengths for transport trucks, because Canadian Tire will deploy them on trucks with day cabs only, not the larger version trucks with sleeper cabs on the back,” said Neil McKenna, the vp of transportation at Canadian Tire.

The 4 trucks will share routes in the Toronto area, driving from Vancouver to the intra-Ontario lanes.
